Project overview
An Elementor Pro site with custom-built features
Hotel Pace is a family-run hotel in Marniga di Brenzone, on Lake Garda. The agency supplied the design and graphic assets; I developed the WordPress site in Italian, English and German, pairing Elementor Pro with custom widgets and plugins where the builder alone was not enough.
My role
What I handled
- Templates with Elementor Pro Theme Builder and a child theme
- Custom post types for rooms and amenities
- Custom Elementor widgets for room sliders, gallery and amenities
- Custom plugin for the interactive map
- Multilingual setup with WPML and responsive adaptations for smartphones
- Launch support: backup and restore on the final domain, licences, security, SMTP and HTTPS
Supplied by the agency
- Design and layouts in Adobe XD
- Graphic assets
- Interaction notes
Technical challenge
Features beyond the page builder, on a site the client runs on their own
- Display rooms, amenities and points of interest in ways the standard Elementor widgets do not cover.
- Let the client manage rooms, text, images and map points, in three languages.
- Deliver a site that is comfortable to use on every device, above all on smartphones.
- Keep phone, booking and map within thumb reach on smartphones.
Technical implementation
Elementor Pro Theme Builder
Header, footer and fullscreen menu live in separate templates, on a Hello Elementor child theme. The client works on content without affecting the structure.
Rooms with post types and custom widgets
Rooms and amenities are custom post types. Custom Elementor widgets display their sliders, gallery and amenities: data is managed in one place and the layout stays in the template.
Interactive map as a plugin
I built it as a plugin because it needed more than a widget: points on an aerial photo, text translated with WPML, a dots-only mode and a separate crop for smartphones. The client manages the points independently.
Multilingual with WPML
Three languages with WPML, extended to custom fields and forms. Privacy and cookie pages in English and German link automatically from the footer and form.
Responsive build optimized for mobile
I adapted layouts, menu and forms to smartphone, tablet and desktop, with particular attention to mobile. Down to the details: the hero height is set in svh rather than vh, so the page does not jump while scrolling.
Sticky bar on smartphones
A bottom bar gives direct access to phone, booking and map, with tap areas large enough to tap comfortably with a finger.
Key features

Smartphone rendering
The same pages on smartphone, with a sticky bottom bar to call, book or open the map.

Results
- The client updates text, photos, rooms and map points on their own, without touching code or layout.
- Fast maintenance for the developer or agency who takes over too: customizations kept apart in a child theme and plugins, separate templates, data in post types and fields. You work in the right place, quickly and with less risk of breaking something else.
- A site that is responsive on every device and optimized above all for mobile: layouts, menu and forms adapted to the smartphone view.
- One template for all rooms: adding or editing a room never touches the layout.
- Pages translated into English and German without duplicating the layout.
- On smartphones, phone, booking and map stay reachable from the sticky bar.
